12 Kits of Occasions - Here Comes the Sun!

Our sweet team-mate, Sharron Gregory, of On Papillon Wings, is our hostess this month!  OH my was her kit packed with pleasure!  You probably know by now that we list all the supplies on the 12 Kits home page, but here is a photo of her wonderful kit [thank you Lindsey!]:

Sharron and I share a love of a few winged things - butterflies [as her blog name suggests] and birds, and one day I'd love to walk in her gorgeous garden ... cheers to 'one day' wishes!

For Sharron:  I hope the dust settles soon so I can tag a few butterflies this year!

This gorgeous cardstock from the Sharron's kit, was embossed using one of my
new 8x12 inch embossing folders!  Doesn't it just set the stage for that beautiful winged specimen?

I sent a little message to Sharron after coloring this cutie:
I never thought I needed a Gecko in my life, but I just might!!!

Inside sentiment:
"Of course they would be the Saltwater Taffy, sticky kind of kisses -
my "ocean" is of the freshwater variety!  Wish you were here!!"

Another little 'peek a boo' frame for
this cute little bunny!

Love this perfect paper, for a darling sentiment!

Left this one un-colored, so the recipient can color it in her own fashion, and 'shake it up'  =]
Inside sentiment:
"It will color your world, as you color mine!"

Just LOVE these papers, Sharron!! and your fabulous die cuts, too!
Inside sentiment:
"Grey skies, or blue - all we need is each other, and a few ice cubes!"

I have so many more fabulous cards to create with the left-overs from this kit!!  Speaking of fabulous:  please visit every member of our 12 Kits club for a look at all the fun we have 'playing cards' together!

Thank you, Sharron - I've loved playing cards with you this month!  xxx

CAS[E] this Sketch #174

I had another play with a lovely Hydrangea today for Chrissy Larson's fun sketch ...

I've flipped it, switched it, and turned it upside-down, but I know that Chrissy won't mind one little bit .. she's sweet like that =]

For CAS[E] this sketch #174:

I must have been in 'purple mode' =]  Here is a little close-up - in lieu of bits of bling, I chose to do a little selective petal popping ...

Just an embossed stamping with VersaMark and Concord Grape - yes, you did read that correctly -
I applied VersaMark, then Concord Grape onto the stamp and clear embossed it!
Water-coloring done with several sittings of Concord Grape, and a bit of muddied Mustard Seed.

OH that was such a fun card to make!  Simple, but with happy results!

We can tell by your cards that you're having as much fun as we are at CTS - can't wait to see what lovelies you'll pop into our gallery this week!

Thanks so much for your visit today!

SugarPea Designs SugarSketch #55

Here I am in my final week of guest designing for SugarPea!  It has been such fun ... thank you to Wendy Ramlakhan for having me, and for all the SugarPea sweetness!

For the final card, here is the sweet SugarSketch for this week:

I HAD to play with those fun tags again ... you may remember Amy's clever cats?  I'd made fish with tags in the past, and thought I'd show you how I did it, using the Stitched Tags ... after all, they do have a fish-tail!  =]

Inside sentiment:
'It is a great day to say: YOU are the Shark, the fish want to swim with!'
Sentiment is a partial from Rice Rice Baby

What a fun month of playing cards with the SugarPea team!

Thanks, as always, for the visit!

Tic Tac Toe #10

A quick little post this morning ... had to play with Tic Tac Toe Ten  over at Stamping Smiles Designs, for a cute little Father's Day card!

I've chosen the bottom horizontal row:

  Bow, texture, and       vellum!

For Dad - in this case, my wonderful FIL:

from DCWV woven cardstock ... PTI Linen Vellum for the shirt -
MFT stitch lines, and a little Clearly Besotted Dad stamp.
Inside sentiment:
"Dad you always have your hand in your pocket, and your heart on your sleeve.
Happy Father's Day ... Thanks a million."

Looking at that bow-tie makes me want an ice cream - can you blame me?

Hope you all have a fun weekend planned!!  Thanks for the visits this week - they always make me smile...

A few leaves from MFT did the trick for my tropical theme for Sketch #173:

Sentiments compliments of my new Stamplorations set from Deepti Malik!!
Inside:  '... is to see your smile!'

If I'm successful, you wouldn't even know I'd never visited the Tropics!  Something I aim to remedy ONE DAY!!!

SugarPea Designs SugarSketch #54!

Week three, and I'm so happy to be back with another sketch from SugarPea Designs as their Guest Designer!  Look at this cutie ...

Did you know I'm a chef?  Oh yes, and I love a good recipe, just as much as I love a great sketch!  Any great cook knows it helps to have the right tools in hand, too ... lucky me to have this Whisky Business stamp, and SugarCuts set!

SO happy to see the female gender represented in the papercrafting community!  This little Chic Chef has the right attitude as well:

That would totally be me ... licking ALL those bowls!!!

Which SugarPea set will be highlighted on your card this week?  You'll find all the inspiration you need over at the SugarPea SugarSketch blog!  You do know that there is a fabulous prize going to one of you fabulous card makers, right?  Choose any sketch, or use them all!

Sandie's Birthday!!

I am very happy to join the birthday parties for Sandie - a.k.a. London Days!!  Sandie is an awesome card maker - likes very CAS style, and leaves us all love so often.  Sandie and I have a 'someday' plan in place for when I visit London again ... I cannot wait!

Sandie, I know I'm a day late ... no good excuses for it, except to say life is getting in the way of play time lately!  I do hope you are continuing to celebrate - this is winging its way to you as soon as I can get it posted!  Much love, and big birthday hugs to you!

My first play-time with this gorgeous #Concord&9th You've Got This set!!!
You'll pardon me if I don't share the inside sentiment this time, right?

Not only am I sending this to Sandie, I'll share at Kylie's party, and Time Out's special challenge with the purple twist, too!  You do know you're all invited, right?!

I'll be a bit behind the scenes for the next few weeks, my friends - big life-changes about to happen 'round here!  More on that soon!

Meanwhile, know that I'll stop by as often as I can -  thanks for stopping by ... it means the world, and keeps me smiling ...

SugarPea Designs SugarSketch #53

Hi all!  I'm back again this week representing SugarPea Designs, and what a fun sketch this week ... check it out:

I am a lucky girl quite often, and was the recipient of a darling little SugarPea stamp set ... thankful for their generous hearts.  I couldn't help but use it for this sketch, and make a little card for a friend far away, who I wish lived closer ... I've left it un-colored, hoping she might use her fantastic coloring skills to do so!

For SPDSS53 using Take Note

Using dark brown to stamp an image is so much fun on occasion ... there are so many papers in my stash with touches of brown instead of black ... this one fit perfectly.  I just gave that little sweetie a touch of Copic blush in all the right places.

Will you be creating a card for a friend using the sketch this week?  The SugarPea Design Team cannot wait to see them ... and either can I!

In under the wire with Freshly Made Sketches #235

Imagine letting laundry get in the way of card-making!!!  OH the shame ... rushing in with a little card for Freshly Made Sketches #235 by Jen M.:

I took five, or 35, minutes to have a first play with this cute little mini set from Altenew:  Daisy!

The perfect little sentiment from W&W Evelin T's Kindness!

I truly wish I had more time for a great photo - I've created a little peek-a-boo under panel with linen vellum ... can you imagine it?  Hope so!

Hope you've achieved all you'd hoped to today!

Sugar Pea Guest Designer!!

No ... Your eyes are not deceiving you!  I am so honored and happy to represent Sugar Pea Designs for the month of May!   I received four of the cutest sketch designs, and have a few new Sugar Pea products to play with, too!! ... enough chatting let's play cards!

Here is the SugarSketch #52 for this week:

I've wanted to get my crafty fingers on the Stitched Flags SugarCuts since their release... and as a chef?  How could I resist choosing Rice Rice Baby!?

Here's how my card came together:

Just a little bit of Copic-coloring was all that was needed to make this little Sushi chef come to life.  I did a little fussy cutting, and paper piecing, too ... the sentiments in this set thrill my pun-loving sense of humor!

Will you play along this week?  For plenty of inspiration all you have to do is head over to the SugarPea Blog to see what their fabulous designers have created!

Thanks for stopping by ...

Muse #164

I am totally surprised by the fact that April is over ... life is flying by too quickly!  Here we are in May, and here I am, your Muse once again!

Spring-time is always pretty busy around our Two Acre Wood ... two momma Wood Ducks in their nest boxes, a garden to prepare for planting, and things are finally looking a bit green - always a welcomed sight!

Today I saw that my lilac will bloom soon - this reminded me how long it has been since I've used my M.E. Sweet Havana set of stamps, and dies ... thus my card for you today:

I've embossed a partial circle using a MFT pierced circle die

I do hope I have given you a little inspiration to play along at Muse this week ... will I be seeing you in the gallery?  Hope so!

[I was inspired by the lovely photo at The Card Concept for this Clean and Layered card, and a sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Ms. Mojo still needs a little leg-up, it seems.]
